Major and Minors

PLEASE NOTE: All WGS courses count toward the minor & major degree requirements. Cross-listed courses may be chosen upon approval.

Students planning to complete a four-year honours (20-credit) degree in Women and Gender Studies are also required to complete another major or two minors.  (Only students who enrolled in a three-year degree before 2003 may take WGS as their sole program of concentration).

Major Program ERMAJ1443

A total of 7.0 credits are required for the completion of a major in Women and Gender studies. This must include the WGS200Y5 course and at least 2.0 credits at the 300+ level, 0.5 at the 400. 0.5 of these 2.0 300 + level credits must be a WGS course. Some WGS courses were formerly labelled as "ERI".

Limited Enrolment --Students enrolling at the end of first year (4.0 credits) must obtain a CGPA of at least 1.80 and a mark of at least 65% in WGS200Y5. Students applying to enrol after second year (8.0 credits) must obtain a CGPA of at least 2.00 and a mark of at least 65% in WGS200Y5.

Note: WGS101H5 is not a requirement towards the completion of a major or minor, it is just an introductory course. You may not take WGS101H5 with or after WGS200Y5.

Students without pre- and co-requisites or written permission of the instructor can be de-registered from courses at any time.
