SIMONA GENGA

MEZZO-SOPRANO, U OF T FACULTY OF MUSIC

Mezzo-soprano Simona Genga is a second-year master’s of opera student in the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music. The Vaughan, Ontario, native graduated with a degree in voice from the University of Western Ontario and has performed in the United States and Canada. Ms. Genga was awarded a grant from the prestigious Jacqueline Desmarais Foundation to attend the Franz Schubert Institut in Baden-bei-Wien, Austria, in 2016. Among her many honours, she received the Hnatyshyn Foundation grant and the Jessye Norman award.
