The Projects at UTM 

In-School Mentoring

This program matches a caring adult mentor with a student in a Peel elementary school. Matches meet for one hour each week at school during school hours to play board games, bake, do arts and crafts, read or play on the computer. Over 80 schools participating, (closest schools to UTM are: St. Margaret of Scotland, Springfield P.S. and St. Catherine of Siena). 

Go Girls Mentor 

A school-based mentoring program for girls in grades 7 8. The program curriculum promotes active living, healthy eating and positive self-esteem. Our female mentors are between the ages of 18 25 years and are trained to lead the fun and interactive sessions over 7 weeks. Access to a vehicle is recommended. 

Game On Mentor 

A school-based mentoring program for boys ages 11-14. The program provides young men with the information and support to make informed choices about healthy living through physical activities, healthy eating and facilitated discussion. Male mentors are trained to lead the interactive sessions over 7 weeks. Access to a vehicle is recommended. 

UTM On-Campus Group Mentor 

Strength in Numbers! Get active and make a difference in a child's life. 10 volunteers mentor 10-15 children one weeknight per week from October to April on the UTM Campus. Groups participate in fun and skill-based activities.
