Learn More

Join UTM’s Centre for Student Engagement and the Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre host workshops for newcomers to become familiarized with certain services in Canada. In particular, this event will focus on providing Syrian Refugees with information on topics such as mental health and career advice.

The Project

The workshops will be facilitated by speakers from different UTM departments and organizations in Peel Region. Childcare will be provided simultaneously and a light lunch/networking hour will follow.

As volunteers, you may assist with workshop logistics, childcare, translating and interacting with the attendees. We are in great need of Arabic speakers but volunteering is open to everyone!
