Join us on March 4th for the Girl Guides of Canada STEM event! We will lead the Girl Guide units in all-day science activities while promoting women’s achievements in STEM. Participation is CCR recognized!  Come out to meet and engage fellow UTM students, and influence future brilliant minds!

  • Girl Guides of Canada is an organization with over 100 years of history, and over 25 locations within the Peel Region. It exists to provide a safe environment that invite girls to challenge themselves to find their voice, meet new friends, have fun, and make a difference in the world
  • This association strives to ensure that girls and women from all walks of life and identities feel a sense of belonging and can fully participate

The Project

  • Participants will help the Community Innovation group lead the Girl Guides in all-day science activities in topics ranging from computer science, astronomy, etc
  • The project will begin with a breakdown of tasks to be performed by the volunteers and will end with a reflection to allow students to reflect on their experience. Volunteers will also help with the supervision and way finding for the Girl Guides & leaders. More information on roles to follow closer to the event

Get Involved

  • Date: Saturday, March 4th 2017
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Location: UTM - Meet in the IB lobby at 8:50 AM
  • Ensure to dress appropriately for the event (i.e. comfortable clothing and footwear)
  • Bring any snacks, water, lunch, etc. that you may need
