The Pan Am Games are coming!
The Pan Am Games are being held from July 10 to 26 and the Parapan Am Games from August 7 to 15. While the exact impact on commuting within the GTA is yet unclear, there has been a lot of talk about additional traffic related to the games that could add to existing congestion. Depending on your route to/from UTM and the frequency with which you travel between UTM and the St. George campus, you may need to allow for extra travel time and may want to begin planning accordingly.
During the Games, the UTM Shuttle Bus will utilize temporary HOV lanes, however please anticipate some slowdowns while buses navigate through Toronto at peak times. The Shuttle Bus will continue to operate as per the Summer Shuttle Schedule and departure times are not expected to change, but the length of travel may be prolonged at certain times. Please plan ahead and adjust your schedule accordingly.
At this time, the St. George shuttle bus stop at Hart House is not expected to change during the Games. Should this need to change, additional information will be circulated online and on the shuttle bus app.
