Writing Intensive Courses

To count a writing-intensive course towards the completion of the Professional Writing and Communication Major or Minor, students must submit to the program assistant evidence that 50% or more of the course final mark is based on written and/or oral presentation work. Students must submit a copy of the course syllabus or a letter from the course instructor.

Students should also review the Degree Requirements section of the University of Toronto Mississauga Course Calendar prior to selecting writing intensive courses for approval. To browse potential courses, please visit the following departmental or program websites:

Approval requests for Writing Intensive courses should be submitted separately. Complete and submit this form to count a writing-intensive course toward a Professional Writing Minor or Major.
