Bio

Paulina is a graduate of the Political Science program at Wilfrid Laurier University. During her undergraduate studies Paulina developed a keen interest in global affairs, environmental preservation and public health. As an active volunteer in various student groups such as the Environmental Association and Habitat for Humanity, Paulina quickly learned about the importance of community collaboration in making a real change and continued to develop her passion for environmental conservation and sustainable business practices.

Upon graduation Paulina pursued a career in the not for profit sector, specifically in health care as she wanted to help give back to the community and work towards improving accessibility to healthcare in Ontario. Paulina interned at the SickKids Foundation during university and upon graduating secured a position at the Scarborough and Rouge Hospital Foundation. During her 5+ years at the Foundation Paulina worked in various roles within the Community Development department and has extensive experience in fundraising, project management, corporate stewardship, event planning, communications and marketing.

Paulina's experience working for a not for profit in healthcare was invaluable. In addition to learning about the many challenges facing Ontario's hospitals, Paulina gained valuable insight into supply chain management, community development and corporate social responsibility issues. With these skills Paulina is excited to be pursuing her Master's degree in Sustainability Management and hopes to use this new knowledge and her past work and volunteer experience, to contribute to building communities that are both economically and environmentally responsible.

Paulina's research and career interests include global sustainability issues such as climate change mitigation, sustainable investing, alternative energy sources, and the development of CSR policies in corporate strategic planning.
