Bio

Nadia is a challenge seeker impassioned by matters of the environment, health and human rights. She graduated in 2015 from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science. She majored in Environmental Sciences and minored in Geography. Her educational background had a strong focus on environmental policy and assessment. Under the supervision of a professor in the School of Geography and Earth Sciences, her senior research project examined the effectiveness of streamlined sectoral regulations on the environmental assessment process in Ontario.

After graduating, she interned at the Riverwood Conservancy as an Education Assistant with their Leadership Education and Diversity Skills Program, a natural science program offered to secondary school students in the Region of Peel. Within her position, she assisted the secondary school instructor in delivering environmental education workshops to complement the Ontario education curriculum. In addition, Nadia also has extensive volunteer experience advocating for local sustainability issues as an Environmental Ambassador with the City of Mississauga, an Environmental Steward with the Cootes Watershed and a Field Assistant with Credit Valley Conservation.

Outside of academics and professional development, Nadia enjoys outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, cross training as well as swimming. She is an avid dancer and loves to explore different cultures and cuisines.
