Application and Admission Dates

All dates are approximate and subject to change.

  • August 1, 2011 - Civic Holiday, University closed
  • August 2011 – eligible 4th year students and graduate students should apply for OGS. See: OGS (Just the Facts)
  • September 5, 2011 - Labour Day, University closed
  • September 21, 2011 – Opening Date to Apply for May 2012 admission
  • October 10, 2011 – Thanksgiving Day, University closed
  • Friday, December 16, 2011, 4pm to Monday, January 2, 8:45am - MBiotech office closed for the holidays (but the online application system will still be avaialble)
  • Wednesday, December 21, 2011 to Friday, December 30, 2011 inclusive – University Closed
  • Monday, January 2, 2012 – University re-opens
  • Friday, January 6, 2012 - Deadline to apply
  • Friday, January 20, 2012 – Last day for submission of any application materials
  • early February 2012 – invitations for MBiotech interviews sent by email
  • February 20, 2012 – Family Day, University closed
  • February 21 to March 2 – MBiotech Interview weeks
  • mid-March to start of Program – Offers of Admission made
  • March/April 2012 – $2,000, non-refundable, deposit is due
  • April 1, 2012 – Apply for OSAP at http://osap.gov.on.ca. Use the 2011-2012 application.
  • April 6, 2012 - Good Friday, University closed
  • May 4, 2012 - Deadline to pay 'Minimum Amount for Registration' (65% of total fees) or submit deferral for such payment
  • May 17, 2012, 4pm - Deadline to apply for SGS University-Wide Awards
  • May 22, 2012 - First day for the MBiotech Class of 2014

Holiday Closure

Applicants: The MBiotech Program Office will be closed from 4 pm (EST) on Friday, December 16, 2011 until 8:45 am (EST) on Monday, January 2, 2012. The Graduate Admissions Application WILL be available during this time. You may complete applications and submit documents. However, staff in MBiotech will not be available to answer enquiries until the first week of January.                                    

Referees: The University of Toronto will be closed from 4 pm (EST) on Friay, December 16, 2011 until 8:45 am (EST) on Monday, January 2, 2012. The Graduate Admissions Application WILL be available during this time. You may submit your references or check your list of requests during the closure. However, staff in MBiotech will not be available to answer enquiries until the first week of January.
