MBiotech

General Information

The MBiotech Program admits students once a year for a May start date. Applications are usually accepted from mid-September to mid-December with supporting documents due in mid-January. For May 2012 entry, the deadline to apply is January 6, 2012 (including payment of the application fee) and supporting documents are due by January 20, 2012. The first day of classes is May 22, 2012.

MBiotech (Master of Biotechnology, University of Toronto Mississauga) is a 24 month course-based professional graduate degree program that combines both science and business courses with 8 to 12 months of paid work experience through internships in the biotechnology, medical device and biopharmaceutical industry. The faculty is drawn from Biology, Chemistry and Management and makes frequent use of guest speakers from industry, government and academia.

Students come to the program with a strong work ethic, learn to operate effectively in teams and develop their leadership skills. You also gain excellent opportunities to build your communications skills through frequent presentations to your class, and to the wider community. Innovative thinking and entrepreneurship are actively encouraged. When you graduate, you'll have a variety of career options available to you.

Holiday Closure

Applicants: The MBiotech Program Office will be closed from 4 pm (EST) on Friday, December 16, 2011 until 8:45 am (EST) on Monday, January 2, 2012. The Graduate Admissions Application WILL be available during this time. You may complete applications and submit documents. However, staff in MBiotech will not be available to answer enquiries until the first week of January.                                                           

Referees: The University of Toronto will be closed from 4 pm (EST) on Friay, December 16, 2011 until 8:45 am (EST) on Monday, January 2, 2012. The Graduate Admissions Application WILL be available during this time. You may submit your references or check your list of requests during the closure. However, staff in MBiotech will not be available to answer enquiries until the first week of January.
