A view of the Pharmaceutical Industry - from a Regulatory Perspective

Abstract: It is often said that the Pharmaceutical industry is one of the heaviest regulated industries but relatively little is known about how companies are managed within the framework of regulation.  This presentation will provide insight into a critical function within the industry and how the professionals working within this area are exposed to and influence the process of drug development and long term product commercialization.

About the speaker: As the President of Redstone Health Group Inc., Karen is responsible for establishing the firm as a valued consultant to the Healthcare sector, Pharmaceuticals in particular.  With over 30 years of leadership change management experience,  Karen has proven herself effective at  delivering regulatory strategies for successful Federal portfolio registration, managing local manufacturing, packaging and distribution Operations, Procurement, Site Management and organizational restructuring.  Karen holds a B.Sc. in Biology from McMaster University.  She is a past Board member of both the Canadian Pharmaceutical Distribution Network (CPDN) and the University of Toronto Biotechnology Bridging Program.  She is a member of the Drug Information Association, and was a founding member of the Canadian Association of Professionals in Regulatory Affairs Professionals (CAPRA).
