Earth-shattering research nets prof $120,000 grant

Assistant professor Lindsay Schoenbohm, who studies plate tectonics and the role that climate plays in initiating, enlarging and sustaining continental plateaus, is one of 12 U of T professors be awarded $120,000 over the next three years by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council's (NSERC) Discovery Accelerator Supplements (DAS) program. Schoenbohm teaches in the Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences.

DAS falls under NSERC's Discovery Grants Program and aims at providing substantial and timely additional resources to a small group of outstanding researchers who have a well-established research program and who show strong potential to become international leaders in their fields.
