The Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre (HMALC) is an academic space for research, reflection, discovery and learning. In designing the HMALC, a variety of "learning zones" were created, including Collaborative Zones where people are encouraged to work together on their academic projects, Silent Zones to provide environments for deep thinking and reflection, and Conversation–and Cell Phone–Friendly Zones where students can talk with friends and class mates about academic issues. »
