Section HeadingPlagiarism

Plagiarism occurs when a person uses someone else's work or ideas, presents the work as their own and fails to formally acknowledge the original author's work.

Plagiarism is a serious academic offence under the U of T Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters section B i 1 (d). To help combat plagiarism, the University of Toronto has purchased a licence for U of T instructors to access Turnitin.com, an electronic resource that assists in the detection and deterrence of plagiarism.
