Plagiarism occurs when a person uses someone else's work or ideas,
presents the work as their own and fails to formally acknowledge the
original author's work.
Plagiarism is a serious academic offence under the U
of T Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters section B i 1 (d). To
help combat plagiarism, the University of Toronto has purchased a licence
for U of T instructors to access Turnitin.com, an electronic resource
that assists in the detection and deterrence of plagiarism.
