Dante La Penna (Signor Florindo)
Dante is in his fourth year at the University of Toronto Mississauga. He is completing a specialist in French and Italian: Teaching and Learning. He enjoys learning languages and he is grateful for the opportunity to combine his love for languages with his passion for theatre. Back in 2019, Dante volunteered behind the scenes in the last production, Ciao, Professoressa!, and he is excited to participate on-stage in this year’s show. He hopes that everyone will enjoy the show!
Dante è uno studente di quarto anno all'Università di Toronto Mississauga. Sta proseguendo una laurea specialistica nell’insegnamento e l’apprendimento di francese e italiano. Gli piace imparare le lingue ed è grato per l’opportunità di unire il suo amore per le lingue con la sua passione per il teatro. Jennifer Hughes (Contessa Rosaura di Bosco Nero)
Jennifer is a fourth year student at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where she is completing a specialist in French and Italian teaching and learning. Jennifer has a passion for learning languages, so participating in this year’s production, The Artful Widows, is the perfect opportunity for her to practice her Italian and learn more about Italian theatre. She cannot wait to experience performing alongside her friends and she hopes you all enjoy the show!
Jennifer è una studentessa di quarto anno all'Università di Toronto Mississauga, proseguendo una laurea specialistica in insegnamento e apprendimento delle lingue (francese e italiano). Jennifer ha una passione per l'apprendimento delle lingue, quindi partecipare alla produzione di quest'anno, Le vedove scaltre, è l'occasione perfetta per esercitare il suo italiano e imparare di più sul teatro italiano. Non vede l'ora di esibirsi insieme ai suoi amici e spera che a tutti piaccia lo spettacolo!
Danielle Drescher (Madame Brigitte Le Blau)
Danielle Drescher is a third year student at the University of Toronto Mississauga, pursuing an Italian specialist degree. Her passion for Italian started with an exchange in high school where she spent an entire year abroad in Northern Italy. Danielle transferred to UTM this year from Laurentian as the Italian program closed and is excited for the new opportunity ahead. She has acted in 2 Italian plays while at Laurentian and is ready to add The Artful Widows to her list of achievements. She hopes you all enjoy the show!
Danielle Drescher è una studentessa di terzo anno all'Università di Toronto Mississauga, proseguendo una laurea specialistica in italiano. La sua passione per l'italiano è iniziata al liceo dove ha trascorso un anno nel nord Italia. Danielle si è trasferita a UTM quest'anno da Laurentian alla chiusura del programma italiano ed è entusiasta di questa nuova opportunità che si è presentata. Ha recitato in 2 commedie italiane mentre era alla Laurentian ed è pronta ad aggiungere Le vedove scaltre alla lista dei suoi successi. Spera che a tutti piaccia lo spettacolo!
Angela Diaz (Doña Luçia de Castiglia)
Angela is a fourth year student at the University of Toronto Mississauga where she is pursuing a specialist in Italian. Angela speaks 4 languages: Spanish, English, Italian and French. It is clear that she loves to learn and speak new languages. She is excited to perform in this production The Artful Widows. She hopes you love her character as much as she does!

Kate Ferrin (Milady Abigail Radbourn)
Kate Ferrin is in her fourth year at the University of Toronto Mississauga pursuing a double major in English and Canadian Studies with a minor in Italian Studies. Kate is very excited to return to the stage after quite the hiatus and is very excited for her Italian language debut in doing so. Outside of the ITA413 classroom, you can find Kate dreaming about her next vacation drinking (likely) her third coffee of the day. She hopes you all enjoy the show!
Kate Ferrin è una studentessa di quatro anno all'Università di Toronto Mississauga, proseguendo una doppia specializzazione in inglese e studi canadesi e un minor in studi italiani. Kate è molto entusiasta di tornare sul palco ed è molto entusiasta del suo debutto in lingua italiana nello spettacolo. Quando non è in classe, Kate passa il suo tempo sognando di andare in vacanza e bevendo almeno tre caffè al giorno. Spera che a tutti piaccia lo spettacolo!
Dellannia Segreti (Marionette)
Dellannia is in her fourth year with a major in Psychology and a double minor in Italian and Sociology. After choosing to pursue a minor in Italian Studies, she was drawn to take the Italian theatre course. As a result of COVID, she was worried that she would graduate without having the opportunity to perform, but after learning that this year's production will still happen, she was ready! As Marionette, she hopes that you enjoy this year's production of The Artful Widows!
Dellannia è una studentessa di quarto anno, proseguendo una doppia laurea in psicologia e sociologia e un minor in Italian Studies. Dopo aver scelto di studiare l’italiano, ha subito mostrato interesse per questo corso di teatro. Era preoccupata di non avere l'opportunità di seguire il corso a causa del COVID, ma quando ha scoperto che lo spettacolo sarebbe andato avanti, era pronta a interpretare il ruolo di Marionette ne Le vedove scaltre. Spera che a tutti piaccia lo spettacolo!
Elisa Schembre (La madre di Florindo)
Elisa is currently in her fourth year of study at the University of Toronto Mississauga. She started as a Linguistics major but it was her love for the Italian language and the connection to her Calabrese and Sicilian roots that led her to switch into an Italian specialist. Elisa is very excited to perform in The Artful Widows this year!
Elisa è una studentessa di quarto anno all'Università di Toronto Mississauga. Ha iniziato i suoi studi in Linguistica, ma è stato il suo amore per la lingua italiana e il legame con le sue radici calabresi e siciliane che l'hanno portata a proseguire una laurea specialistica in Italiano. Niccolle Ramirez (Arlecchino)
Niccolle is a third year student working toward an Italian Studies specialist at the University of Toronto Mississauga. She loves singing karaoke songs and studying different languages in her free time, so studying Italian through theatre is a great opportunity for her. Thanks to this year's production of The Artful Widows, she hopes to expand her love for theatre and performances.
Niccolle è una studentessa di terzo anno, proseguendo una laurea specialistica all'Università di Toronto Mississauga. Ama cantare canzoni karaoke e studiare diverse lingue nel suo tempo libero, quindi studiare l'italiano attraverso il teatro è una grande opportunità per lei. Angelo Coluccio (Pantalone/Foletto)
Angelo is a fifth year student at the University of Toronto Mississauga studying Italian and Philosophy. Angelo has had a passion for learning about Italian culture and language ever since his first year. He is very excited to perform in The Artful Widows because it will allow him to showcase what he has learned during his Italian studies.
