November 8: Resume Building Workshop 

Matching your skills and experience to an employer's needs is the key to developing your job-winning resumes. Find out what it takes to market yourself effectively and apply your learning by working on improving components of your own resume. In order to make this as beneficial as possible, participants should bring their own resume as well as job posting they are interested in.

November 15: UTM Abroad Applications Close

Applications for our Co-Curricular Experiences to Guatemala and Thailand are closing on November 15. Learn about Fair Trade & Social Justice in Guatemala, or The Rise of Alternative Tourism in Thailand next April after the exam period. 

November 13 - 16: International Education Week

Join the International Education Centre in celebrating diversity, culture and international education at UTM! From November 13th-16th the IEC along with campus partners and cultural clubs will be celebrating all things global! From experiencing Middle Eastern cuisine, learning about studying abroad, international education opportunities and exploring age old beauty secrets from around the world – join us as we uncover the wonder of being a truly global and international campus!

  • Throughout the week - UTM's Cultural Mosaic - Help us kick off IEW by contributing to the living UTM Cultural Mosaic! Throughout the week of IEW you and your friends will have a chance to contribute to a living art piece representing the diversity of students at UTM and celebrating the global citizen within us all! 
  • November 13 - Free henna application 
  • November 14 - Board game cafe
  • November 15 - Taste of Home: Middle East - Unleash the foodie within by participating in the IEC’s ongoing Taste of Home series where we bring you an array of authentic Middle Eastern dishes to tantalize your taste buds and expose you to a whole new food culture! 
  • November 16 - Global Beauty Secrets: Face Mask DIY - Make your own face or hair masks with ingredients from around the world!
  • November 16 - Film screening of the movie "Like Stars on Earth" - The story of a young person's experience dealing with dyslexia as he navigates his academic and home life, and struggles with fitting in, feeling different and belonging. 

November 23: Facebook Live Exchange

Tune in at 12pm (noon) to learn about choosing a school, earning credits, how to apply and to hear from returning UTM exchange students about how an international exchange changed their lives.

November 29: USA Visa Information Session

Do you wish to visit, study, work or have an internship in the United States? Representatives from the US Consulate in Toronto will be available to conduct an information session which will explain:

  • The various types of U.S. non-immigrant visas and required documents necessary to meet the eligibility requirements.
  • How to apply for a U.S. visa in Toronto and the required administrative procedures.
