Visiting International Students Program (VISP)

VISPThrough the Visiting International Students Program (VISP) the University of Toronto offers the opportunity for international students who are not currently studying at a partner institution to study at U of T. The program has been designed for students interested in studying at the University of Toronto for 1 or 2 terms. 

The University of Toronto Mississauga provides students with a complete academic student experience. It offers unique and sought after programs and courses, such as the Communication, Culture & Information Technology and Forensic Science programs. Other programs such as Biology offer a hands-on field experience for students by utilizing the surrounding green spaces belonging to the Ontario Greenbelt.

Eligibility

To participate in this program, students must meet the English language requirements and pay the corresponding fees. 

If your first language or the language of instruction at your home insitution is English, you will not need to demonstrate proficency. Otherwise, you must meet the requirements below and submit your scores with your VISP application. 

Minimum requirements for visiting students:

  • TOEFL Internet-based Test (IBT): minimum 100 overall + 22 on the writing section.
  • The minimum IELTS score requirement is an overall band of 6.5, with no band below 6.0.

Incidental Fees: Varies by programs. Approximatley $650/session

Application

To come to U of T as a visiting international student you will need to complete an application and get a Letter of Permission (LOP) from your home institution.

Please note that visiting international students may not apply for transfer admission.
