Resolved: Intermittent Network Connectivity

We have received reports of intermittent network connectivity throughout the campus.  Cause of the issue is under investigation.

Next update will be sent at 10:30am.  This page will be updated as status changes and also on Twitter @UTMHelpDesk.

Heartbleed Notice

This a general notice to the UofT Community about the widely reported Heartbleed Bug.

What is Heartbleed?

The Heartbleed Bug is a vulnerability in the popular OpenSSL cryptographic software library. This weakness allows stealing of the normally protected information, such as passwords and data.

UTM Network Connectivity Issues Resolved.

The following services are now running properly:

  • Local Call Center (Voicemail)
  • WebHelpDesk
  • Off Campus access to home directories
  • Access to personal websites
  • IMAP services

UTM Network Connectivity Issues March 3, 2014

Most network and web services have now been restored.

Currently the following services are down:

  • Local Call Center (Voicemail). All voicemail are still available via downtown though.
  • WebHelpDesk.
  • Off Campus access to home directories (SSH/SFTP).
  • Access to personal websites (w3 accounts).
  • IMAP services.
