Slow Wireless Connectivity

RESOLVED at 10:51am.

Slow network connectivity has been reported at the HMALC – Library following the earlier resolution of intermittent network connectivity on campus.  Cause of the issue has been identified and requires a reset of wireless network equipment at HMALC and select residence buildings: OPH, Roy Ivor Hall and Erindale Hall.

We have received reports of intermittent network connectivity throughout the campus.  Cause of the issue is under investigation.

This a general notice to the UofT Community about the widely reported Heartbleed Bug.

What is Heartbleed?

The Heartbleed Bug is a vulnerability in the popular OpenSSL cryptographic software library. This weakness allows stealing of the normally protected information, such as passwords and data.

UTM Network Connectivity Issues Resolved.

The following services are now running properly:

  • Local Call Center (Voicemail)
  • WebHelpDesk
  • Off Campus access to home directories
  • Access to personal websites
  • IMAP services
