Update #2: Email Virus Attack

Phishing Email
Friday, January 23, 2015 - 10:26am

I+TS Services at UTSG continues to monitor the email system for further virus attacks, as we experienced over the past two days, and is putting in place measures to reduce our exposure to such attacks.

However, the best defence is continued vigilance by each member of the community. If you receive an email message with an attachment from someone you don’t know, especially if there is no reasonable or logic message, do NOT open it – delete the message. And even if you receive an attachment from someone you do know, but were not expecting it, contact them before you open to verify that it is real. And as always, if you have any concerns, please contact your local IT support professional or UTM Help Desk.
