Unplanned IT Outage

Friday, August 29, 2014 - 11:47am

Our SQL Server database outage has been resolved. Web applications that depend on this database are now operational. Please report any problems to our Help Desk.

Filestor is now available. You may need to restart your computer in order to access your shared drives again. If you experience any problems please contact the Help Desk.

However, our database is still unavailable; therefore, many of our web applications are still not available at this time.

We continue to investigate the problems with Filestor and our database, but still have no estimated time of resolution at this time.

We have discovered a problem which affects access to Filestor (S: and H: drives) and our database.

The problem with the database affects various Web Applications including but not limited to:

  • Special Requests
  • AV Booking
  • Resource Booking System
  • UPass
  • UTORSubmit
  • UTM Online Phone Directory

We are aware of the problem and are currently investigating but do not have an ETA on the resolution. Apologies for the inconvenience.

We will update this message when we have more information.

UPDATE: 2:45pm

All services that were affected have been restored including the shared/network drives on Filestor.

If you are having problems, please contact our Help Desk.

It seems some people may still be experiencing problems with the shared/network drives (Filestor).  We continue to investigate this problem.

The problems with our database has been resolved and web applications are confirmed to be fully functional again.

We have managed to restore services for our database and Filestor.  Web applications should be functional again.

Shared drive (Filestor) performance may be temporarily slow, but the shared drives should be accessible now.

We are currently experiencing problems with our database which affects various web applications including:

  • Special Request
  • Upass
  • Resource Booking System
  • UTM Online Directory (Phonebook)
  • AVBooking

and filestor (shared drives).

We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as soon as possible but downtime is expected to be prolonged.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

We will update this message when we have more information.
