When can I start using my Meal Plan Dollars?

  • Your Basic and Flex Dollars can be used from the beginning of the Fall Semester to the end of the Winter Semester

How do the Meal Plan instalments work?

  • You will be charged for your Resident Student Meal Plan in 2 instalments:
    • The 1st instalment will be posted to your ROSI account along with your July Tuition invoice
    • The 2nd instalment will be posted to your ROSI account in December
  • The entire balance of your Resident Student Meal Plan is deposited to your Meal Plan account at the beginning of the school year
  • Paying the 2nd instalment is not equivalent to the addition of funds to your Resident Student Meal Plan Balance; it represents the outstanding balance of your Meal Plan that was not covered by the 1st instalment

What If I Run Out of Money on My Meal Plan?

  • During the school year, if you run out of Basic Food Dollars, you can transfer funds from your Flex Dollars to your Basic Food Dollars. These transferred funds will receive the tax savings and the 50% overhead component reduction associated with the Basic Food Dollars. This transfer can be completed by visiting the Hospitality and Retail Services Office
  • You can add Basic Food Dollars and Flex Dollars at any time
    • The minimum deposit amount is $20
    • Money can be added by visiting the Hospitality and Retail Services. The Hospitality and Retail Services Office accepts Debit Cards, Visa, Master Card and Cash
    • Flex Dollars can be also be added to your Meal Plan by visiting the On-line Meal Plan Management System
    • Basic Food Dollars cannot be added on-line

How Do I Monitor My Meal Plan Spending?

How does the 50% Overhead work?

  • The Overhead costs of 50% are deducted from your Basic Food Dollars Account up front. Overhead consists of heating, hydro, rental, maintenance and labour costs
  • Since Resident Student Meal Plan holders have already paid the 50% Overhead, they will only pay 50% of the retail selling price of all eligible Basic Food items
  • Items purchased using the Flex Dollars are charged to your account at the full retail price and are taxable as appropriate

What If I Lose My TCard ? Do Not Have My T Card ? My TCard Does Not Work?

  • It is strongly recommended that you deactivate your Meal Plan as soon as you discover that your TCard is missing in order to protect your Basic Food Dollar and Flex Dollar balances
  • You will be responsible for all purchases on your Resident Student Meal Plan until your Plan has been deactivated
  • You can deactivate your Meal Plan by visiting the Hospitality and Retail Services Office or the On-line Meal Plan Management System
  • Your TCard is necessary to debit your Meal Plan - your Meal Plan cannot be accessed without your TCard
  • Without your TCard, you will be required to pay cash; a cash purchase amount cannot be transferred to your Resident Student Meal Plan
  • Replacement cards are available at the TCard Office located adjacent to the Registrar’s office in the Davis Building. The cost for a new card is $20. You will then have to visit the Hospitality and Retail Services Office to reactive your meal plan
  • If you lose your TCard outside of TCard Office hours, visit the Chartwells Unit Manager on duty in Colman Commons to make arrangements. You will be required to get a replacement TCard when the TCard office re-opens

Can Alcohol Be Purchased With My Meal Plan?

  • Alcohol cannot be purchased with your Resident Student Meal Plan

What Happens to the Balance Remaining in my Meal Plan at the End of the Year?
