Hi, my name is Ilapreet and I am doing my PhD with the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Toronto. I've had an admiration for animals from a very young age, and a fascination for how animals reside and survive in their habitats. This passion has translated into my research where I am studying the naked mole rat social system. I am interested in learning how naked mole rats end up in their respective castes, and how much flexibility exists within the colony to change their caste. I plan to achieve this through behavioural and cellular studies.
