Internship and Practicum Courses

Experiential learning opportunities have been flourishing in number and scope at the Department of Historical Studies and across the University. Practical learning is something we embrace here at the Department, which is why we offer our students the opportunity to earn course credit in the internship and practicum format. In this design, learning is accomplished both by hands-on work and reflection.

The internship and practicum learning experience provides students with a valuable forum for academic, professional and personal growth and yields new platforms for collaboration and access between the university and the community.

Currently we offer two experiential courses within the Department. Please click on the links to the left for detailed information about both of the Department's practical opportunities. In addition, we offer the experiential research course Search and Research: A Journey in Muslim Civilizations, offered through the Research Opportunity Program.
