Mairi Cowan's BBC Interview on Good Morning Scotland!

Thursday, October 16, 2014 - 8:53am

Our very own Professor Mairi Cowan was featured on Good Morning Scotland, a flagship morning news programme on BBC Radio Scotland. The interview aired on Saturday, October 11, 2014 and featured Professor Cowan's interview on the subject of African contributions to the Scottish Renaissance.  October is Black History Month in the UK.

If you would like to learn more about the African presence in Renaissance Scotland, you can read Professor Cowan's article on the topic in the November / December issue of History Scotland.  This article talks about individual Africans at the royal court, the African provenance of the lute, and the Scots' own medieval origin story of their African descent.
