Biography

As the UTML Collection Development Coordinator and Copyright Librarian, Ms Hawrychuk has worked closely with both faculty and students to develop first class collections to ensure excellence at all levels.  As a librarian at UTM for over 20 years, her experience working in an academic environment and in-depth knowledge of collection development, copyright and the changing world of academic publishing (member of the Oxford University Press Advisory Board) will be a valuable asset to this committee. 

Ms Hawrychuk’s previous assignments include being a member UTM Academic Affairs Committee.  Ms Hawrychuk was elected in 2015 to her first term on the UTM Campus Council, which ends on June 30, 2018.

Biography

Ms Alekson has been a University of Toronto Mississauga employee since 2007 and her current position is Manager, Parking & Transportation.  Megan graduated from the University of Toronto Mississauga with an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Relations and English (2008) and served on the Erindale College Council from 2011 to 2013 (previous governance model).  She is also an active member of the Quality Service to Students Council (QSS) and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary since 2004. 

Ms Alekson's previous assignments include being a member of the UTM Campus Council, Agenda Committee and Campus Affairs Committee.  Ms. Alekson was first elected to Campus Council in 2014 and is in her second term, which ends on June 30, 2017.

Biography

Paula joined the University of Toronto Mississauga Library in 1996, having worked previously as a Librarian at the University of Alberta where she developed an award winning video for first year students learning to navigate the library. Currently she is the Acting Associate Librarian Teaching, Learning & User Experience, reference coordinator, and liaison librarian for Sociology. She continues to develop and share her expertise in the transition of students from high school to first year university, leading the team of instruction librarians in their partnership with colleagues on campus for orientation/transition. Paula currently serves on a number of library and campus committees, including the UTM First Year Working Group, UTM P.A.R.T. Committee, and Local Evaluation Committee for the Co-Curricular Record.

Biography

Pam join the University of Toronto Mississauga Library (formerly Erindale College Library) in 1992 and has served on numerous University of Toronto Library, UTM Library and campus committees.  Most recently she has served on the UTM Academic Planning Committee (2011-2012), the UTM Living Library Committee and is the UTM Library’s liaison to the University of Toronto Libraries Strategic Planning Steering Committee.  Currently she is the UTM Library Digital Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian and a Liaison Librarian for the Concurrent Teacher Education Program (CTEP), Language Studies and Visual Studies.

Pam holds a B.A. University of Toronto (1987) and a Masters of Library Science, U of T (1991).  She joined UTM in 1992.  She also served on the Academic Affairs Committee (2011-12) and was UTM library’s liaison to the U of T Libraries Strategic Planning Steering Committee.  Currently, she is the UTM Library Digital Research and scholarly Communication Librarian.

Biography

Melissa has been a University of Toronto employee for the past eleven years and during that time has proudly served the UTM community for eight years. 

She graduated from York University with a degree in International Relations and since then has had an active interest in government and governance.  In her current position at UTM as the Program and Curriculum Officer in the Office of the Dean, Melissa has acquired a vast knowledge and understanding of University policy and procedures, allowing her to play an important role in various initiatives (through both the divisional and Governing Council boards and committees).  Her experience having served on Erindale College Council for the past three years has enabled her to make valuable contributions to the quality and integrity of the campus.  She is also highly active with curriculum, facilitates external reviews, and has liaised frequently with individuals both on campus and at St. George on issues surrounding academic policy and planning at UTM.  Apart from her areas of expertise in the academic realm, Melissa is passionate about the services and facilities UTM has to offer and has a vested interest in maintaining this level of excellence on campus.

Melissa has a B.A. from York University, International Relations (2002) and has been the UTM Program and Curriculum Officer since 2007.  Melissa has extensive background and appreciation for the functionality and operation of post-secondary institutions, having worked for five years at York University and prior to her current position at UTM. Melissa has also previously worked for the Office of Convocation and the Faculty of Medicine on the St. George campus.
