Biography

Leonard is a practicing barrister, solicitor and notary public. He serves his community as the Chair of the Mississauga Appeal Tribunal and as an Auxiliary Inspector with the Toronto Police Service. Previous relevant community experiences include membership on the Board of Directors of St. John Ambulance (Toronto Branch) and The Peel Literacy Guild (now know n as The Learning Place). Leonard also serves as a director of Peel Condominium Corporation No. 404. He is a part-time student, currently pursuing an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree.

Leonard was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013 for his service to the community in Peel and the Greater Toronto Area.  Leonard previously served on the UTM Academic Affairs Committee.

Biography

Sarah is currently working towards a PhD in Chemistry at UofT, where she work as part of a team trying to create new, less toxic drugs that target cancer and tropical diseases. At UTM, Sara has represented and verbalized the interests of graduate students on a plethora of committees including: the Erindale College Council from September 2010 to May 2013, and the Graduate Curriculum Subcommittee  from January 2011 to now. Sara was also Co-President of the UTM Association of Graduate Students (UTMAGS), as well as Secretary and Treasurer of Venture, an organization based on advancing the opportunities for graduate student professional development. Sara enthusiastically enjoys serving the graduate population at UTM, and looks forward to representing her constituency on the Campus Council during the 2014-2015 year. Sara was previously a member of the Academic Affairs Committee.

Biography

Muhammed Talha Mahmood is currently a second year Commerce student at University of Toronto Mississauga. He has served as a Board Director for the UTMSU during the 2012-2013 academic year. He is serving on the UTMSU board again this year as a Division 2 Board Director. Talha is also nominated as a Board Director for the UTM Young Liberals and is an associate for the UTM debating club.

Biography

Masood Samim is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the department of Physics, University of Toronto, and he works in the Barzda Biophysics Group of Professor Virginijus Barzda at the department of Chemical and Physical Science at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Along his other extracurricular activities, he is the co-founder and former vice-president of the UTM CPS Graduate Student Association. He also founded the Operation Management Board at the Cystic Fibrosis Canada Peel and District Chapter in 2007, and has been serving since as the president. He obtained his H.B.Sc. (2008), and a M.Sc. (2009) from University of Toronto.

Biography

Ron Racioppo is currently working in the Office of the Registrar as an Academic Advisor. He has worked at the University of Toronto for 16 years, and has been at UTM for the past 8 years.  He is also attending classes as a 4th year undergraduate part time student. He has the unique opportunity of seeing things from both an administrative and student perspective. Ron is currently working towards a double major in Criminology and Socio-Legal Studies and Political Science and a minor in Canadian Studies.

Biography

Graduated from the Ontario Science Centre Science School, Alice is currently studying Commerce with a major in Economics and minor in Sociology at UTM. She works with PwC LLP in the Toronto Assurance Group. On campus, Alice is the President for UTM Residence Council and has worked as Peer Academic Leader with Residence, helping first years adjust to university. Alice's other involvements include Undergraduate Commerce Society, Free the Children at UTM, AccessAbility, Finance Learning Centre, IMIC, and Research Assistant. Previously, Alice has been elected to serve on the Milton Mayor's Youth Advisory Council, where she represented the youth voice alongside Town Council. Having volunteered with over 30 different organizations, she is a recipient of the Ontario Youth Volunteer Service Award.

Alice's previous involvement with University of Toronto Governance include two terms on UTM Campus Council, as well as the Academic Affairs Committee, Nominating Committee, and the Committee to Review Campus Councils (CRCC). Ms. Li is in her 3rd term as a full-time student member of the UTM Campus Council and was first elected in 2013.
