Research and Graduate Studies in Geography at the University of Toronto Mississauga
Geography is an interdisciplinary field that integrates aspects from a variety of research traditions to understand people's interactions with their social, political, physical and biological environments. Geography offers new ways of combining and developing knowledge about the environment in which we all live. At UTM, our faculty members include top social science, science, and public health researchers who hold external research funding from all three of Canada's major research granting councils (SSHRC, NSERC, and CIHR) among many others.
Our faculty members and graduate students are full members of the larger University of Toronto research community, but also of our congenial and active group of Geography researchers at UTM. Affiliated graduate students have free access to a shuttle bus departing each half hour to and from the St. George (Toronto) campus, yet can work in our modern, green, intimate campus of 12,000 located just 13km southeast of Toronto immediately adjacent to the largest municipal park in the city of Mississauga. Visit our faculty members' research profiles, and consider the benefits of UTM for an exceptional graduate research experience.
