Congratulations to Alexus Maglalang, Vivian Yip and Heather Wilson for presenting the winning poster at Canadian Association of Geographers Ontario conference last week! Entitled “Nutrient Retention in the Minesing Wetlands,” the poster focused on the notably worsening water quality downriver of these wetlands near Barrie. The research was conducted through the Research Opportunity Program (ROP) under the supervision of Professor Tim Duval.

This year’s CAGONT Annual Meeting occurred at York University and invited Undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral research presentations on critical geographical inquiry into social, economic and environmental challenges, awarding prizes to leading abstracts in the three categories.
