William G. Davis Building

A note about W.G. Davis Building

The William G. Davis Building has played a significant role in campus life at UTM. Built in 1974, the building has performed as the campus' primary academic building, with lecture theatres, classrooms, technology and science labs and the rooftop greenhouse lab. Over the years as UTM's campus has evolved, Davis Building has changed to include physical links to the CCT Building, the Recreation, Athletics & Wellness Centre (RAWC), Innovation Complex, and the Terrence Donnelly Health Sciences Complex. Current construction will link it to the future New Science Building.

But the expanse of academic services housed in Davis Building is more than equaled by its administrative function. Davis Building also is the location for UTM’s Office of the Vice-President & Principal, the Office of the CAO, the Office of the Dean, the Dean of Student Services and the Office of Advancement, and their various supporting units. Current projects such as the construction of the Student Services Hub will continue to strengthen Davis Building's administrative aspect.

Much like the wide reach of the building’s physical layout, W.G. Davis Building’s importance is greater than a single category, which is why it appears under both the Academic and Administrative categories.
