Jess Dobkin

Studio Art (Video Sound Performance)

Jess Dobkin’s work has been presented both nationally and internationally in museums, galleries, theatres, universities and public spaces. Her performances have received extensive media attention and have been the subject of recent articles in Gastronomica, The Canadian Theatre Review and n.paradoxa. Dobkin was the 2011-2012 Guest Curator of Harbourfront Centre’s HATCH residency program and a member/co-curator of the 7a-11d International Festival of Performance Art from 2009-2012. She has taught as a Sessional Instructor at OCAD University and the University of Toronto, and is a Fellow at the Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies at the University of Toronto. Dobkin has a BA in Women’s Studies from Oberlin College, and an MFA in Performance Art from Art Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University.
