Concurrent Teacher Education Program

Welcome to the Concurrent Teacher Education Program at U of T Mississauga!

CTEP is an inspiring pathway to becoming a teacher. From the first year of study, teacher candidates actively participate in education-friendly courses and field observations.  Throughout the five years of the program, teaching theories and practices are examined and students have the opportunity to hone their skills and develop relationships with the teaching community through various field placements.  CTEP is a great choice for students interested in a rewarding career in education.

This innovative program allows students to earn two undergraduate degrees simultaneously over 5 years of full-time study:

  • An Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree (HBA) or an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree (HBSc) which provides in depth knowledge in a first and/or second teaching subject
  • A Bachelor of Education Degree (BEd) which develops the practical skills needed to apply knowledge effectively as a teaching professional

All successful candidates will receive a certificate from the Ontario College of Teachers.
