Student Organizations at the University of Toronto of particular relevance to South Asian Civilizations, or with a significant proportion of members who are of South Asian origin.

Afghan Students Association (UTSG)

The Afghan Students’ Association (ASA)  provides Afghan Students with an opportunity to get together and organize social, cultural and educational events at U of T campuses. We believe that organizing such events will enhance the understanding of the Afghan students of their own culture, help raise awareness amongst the U of T community of the Afghan people and their culture, and will also provide opportunities for Afghan students to consolidate and enhance their social networks.

Association for India’s Development (UTSG)

A non-political, non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about poverty and related issues, raise funds, and to make charitable contributions for the development and welfare of the poor people and poor communities of India.

Works to promote the Bengali culture both on and off campus, and to raise money to send to the global South in hopes of increasing social development
