Undergrad Teaching Lab Facilities

Welcome to the Chemical and Physical Department Undergraduate Laboratories at UTM.

Our newly renovated Chemistry Undergraduate Laboratories, located on the third floor of the William Davis Building. The major renovation of our labs (completed 2013), has allowed us to offer chemistry ungraduated courses to a larger number of students. The Chemistry labs, consists of two large Undergraduate laboratories (DV3065 & DV3075), servicing First, Second and Third year level courses, including an Instrumentation facilities. These facilities also service our graduate students and research groups. The department has excellent undergraduate teaching labs, including seven full-time lab staff and teaching assistants are available during the lab time periods.

Earth Science Teaching labs are located on Floor 2 of the Davis building.

The Physics Teaching Labs are located on floor 1 of the Davis Building near the Bookstore, and consist of two laboratories, an advanced project and storage area, several darkrooms, and a staff office and prep space. This space was freshly renovated at the end of 2013 from the old Spigel Hall. All experiments for undergraduate-level physics courses are offered here, and our equipment ranges from basic mechanics setups all the way to an atomic force microscope (AFM) that can achieve single atom resolution. Staff are generally available around 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, and teaching assistants are around to help during labs.
