Information Sessions and On-Campus Interviews

Information Sessions

Information Sessions provide an interactive setting for students to find out about the various opportunities available with your organization. These sessions are typically 1-2 hours in length and are scheduled to coincide with the advertised date and deadline date of your listed positions. The format is usually a 15-30 minute presentation followed by a Q&A.

Booking a session

Your organization must have a current work opportunity listed with the Career Centre. Room availability on campus is very limited. Please provide a minimum two weeks advance notice to allow us time to book a suitable room and promote your session to students. The cost of an information session or information table is $125 plus HST.

Advertising

While we will promote your session extensively on campus, you may wish to supplement our marketing by advertising in the UTM student newspapers, The Medium or The Varsity.

Catering

Please contact Conference Services and Events directly at 905-569-4615. AV Equipment, if needed, should be requested directly from the Career Centre.

Cancellations

If for any reason you find it necessary to cancel an upcoming information session/table that has already been arranged, please provide at least 5 business days notice; otherwise full payment will be required.

We encourage you to also arrange sessions at the St. George or Scarborough campuses. Please ask us for details!

On-Campus Interviews

If you have a work opportunity advertised with us, we are happy to provide a complementary interview room on-campus. We can also arrange to build interview schedules and facilitate student sign-up for those employers that interview on campus.

Procedures

Your organization must be registered with the Career Centre and have posted a work opportunity. Room availability on campus is very limited. Please provide a minimum of one week advance notice.

It is the employer’s responsibility to contact the students and to inform them of their interview status. With sufficient advance notice, we can also arrange to have candidates sign up for interview schedules on-line via our website.

All candidates to be interviewed must be University of Toronto students. A master list of the candidates must be sent to the Career Centre in advance along with instructions regarding the timing of the interviews. Please ask for details.

Cancellations

If for any reason you find it necessary to cancel an upcoming interview room booking that has already been arranged, please provide at least 3 business days notice, otherwise cancellation charges may apply.

Please let us know if you would also like to arrange interviews at the St. George or Scarborough campuses.

Please note: we reserve the right to limit the number of on-campus interview bookings per organization to three bookings per term.
