Welcome John Ratcliffe!

The Dept. of Biology is pleased to announce that John Ratcliffe has accepted an offer of a tenure-stream position as Assistant Professor of Animal Biology. He will start his full time appointment on January 1, 2014 and his graduate appointment will be in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

John will be coming from University of Southern Denmark, where he is currently a Lektor in Biology. He did his PhD with the late James Fullard and went on to conduct postdoctoral research at Cornell University and the University of Southern Denmark. John’s research focus is on the neuroethology and ecology of echolocating bats, and he will be setting up a bat observational facility (the ‘bat cave’!) on the UTM campus.

John will be a terrific addition to the department and we invite everyone to send him a warm welcome!
