Ian Orchard Student Initiatives Fund

Established in 2010 in honour of his service to the University of Toronto Mississauga as vice-president and principal (2002-2010), the Ian Orchard Student Initiatives Fund supports university recognized student groups who have inspiring and engaging projects or events that enhance the student experience and foster a sense of campus community.

In 2017, the Ian Orchard Student Initiatives Fund will link to UTM’s 50th Anniversary celebrations. The 50th Anniversary is a year-long community celebration, celebrating our past and looking to the exciting possibilities ahead. Anniversary events and activities will showcase the excellence of our UTM community and celebrate our many partnerships.  It will also highlight UTM’s global mind-set with its diversity in programming, student population, and research.

The Ian Orchard Student Initiatives Fund will be linked to the 50th Anniversary through a special matching opportunity, and all eligible student groups whose goals and objectives align with the anniversary are welcome to apply.

There is no deadline to apply — applications will be accepted throughout 2017 and reviewed as they are received.
