AccessAbility Summer Transition Program

The AccessAbility Summer Transition Program is a comprehensive orientation program for incoming first year UTM students with disabilities. This free two day program will provide you with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required to have a successful transition to the University of Toronto Mississauga's academic environment.

Interactive sessions include:

  • managing your academic accommodations
  • learning about your disability and learning profile (e.g. strengths and challenges)
  • meeting with a faculty member and participating in a lecture
  • getting to know the campus resources including electronic resources in the library
  • test taking strategies
  • taking effective notes
  • study skills strategies
  • time management tools
  • self-advocacy and self-determination
  • balancing your academics and wellbeing

To register for the program, please schedule an intake appointment with an AccessAbility Advisor who will review your medical documentation. To arrange an appointment, please call 905-569-4699 or drop by the Centre (room 2037 Davis Building).
