Faculty/Staff

Instructors are encouraged to promote academic integrity in their classrooms on a regular basis. For example, instructors may emphasize the importance of academic integrity in their lectures by providing students with practical examples of academic misconduct that often occur. Students tend to be unaware that they may be committing acts of plagiarism and/or do not understand the implications of breaching the Code. Reinforcing the principles of honesty and fairness always helps to create a positive learning environment.

We also encourage instructors from all disciplines to come together and share tips on how they educate their students on the importance of academic honesty. Learning new and innovative approaches towards preventing plagiarism is a great way to ensure good scholarly habits.

This website is designed to provide instructors with tips on how to prevent academic misconduct. It will also guide instructors on the investigation and resolution process for academic offence cases at UTM.
